Chocolate-covered Strawberries
The perfect recipe for seduction
Ingredients
- 14 fresh strawberries
- 300g of your favourite milk or dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsps heavy cream
- 1 tsp rum (optional)
- 14 toothpicks
Method
- Wash strawberries and pat them dry with paper towels. Place in fridge.
- Heat up a saucepan filled with about 4 cm of water, but don’t let water boil. To melt the chocolate, put chocolate pieces, butter, heavy cream and rum (if using) in a small bowl (larger than saucepan). Place the bowl over the saucepan – don’t let the bowl touch the hot water. Slowly melt chocolate mixture, keep stirring until smooth.
- Remove the strawberries from the fridge. Poke one toothpick into the stem of each strawberry, before dipping it into the chocolate mixture. Make sure the chocolate coats half the strawberry. Put the chocolate-covered strawberry on a clean plate.
- Refrigerate before serving.
