Fan Fare
Is it okay for my baby to spend mots of his day in an air-conditioned home?

Q My newborn spends most of his day indoors in my centrally air-conditioned home. Is this harmful to my baby? Should I use the fan instead?
Katherine Soon, Dover Rise

A If your air-conditioners are serviced regularly, it should be fine for the baby. Your baby may experience drier skin and may require a skin moisturiser. Alternatively, you may want to open the windows occasionally and use the fan.
