Visual Explosion @ SAM
Enjoy local art at the Singapore Art Exhibition
The Singapore Art Exhibition 2009 offers a national platform for artists from all disciplines to participate via an open call for submissions. And this year's theme - ART BUFFET SINGAPORE!
Artists can select from a buffet spread of twelve themes to respond to, including Food, Gesture and Ritual.
The best submission will be awarded the Singapore Art Exhibition Prize - a fifty thousand dollar grant which can be used for professional or capability development through residencies, further studies or training, and for the creation and/or presentation of bold, new projects and works.

Artist Speak: Ways of seeing Contemporary Art
Do you feel that art is difficult to understand? Abandon your preconceived notions about art and gain pointers on the various elements to look out for when appreciating contemporary art. Artist, Lim Kok Boon will demystify art for you.

Art Express 101
The experience begins at SAM with a guided tour of the Singapore Art Exhibition where you will see the varied approaches of local artists as they respond to the themes of the competition. You can vote for your favourite artwork and stand to win attractive prizes. You will then hop on the Art Express and travel to NUS Museum, d’ Art Studio, Fill-Your-Walls and Your MOTHER gallery.

I Heart ART
A day dedicated to the kids with a fun line-up of hands-on art activities from painting and drawing to etching, printmaking, sculpting and clay modelling. Ideal for kids aged 6 to 11.
